LobbyGuard was acquired by Raptor. Your options in 2026.
LobbyGuard has been a Raptor Technologies product since June 2019. Its website now redirects to raptortech.com, and Raptor invites LobbyGuard customers to transition to its own VisitorSafe product. No end-of-life date has been published. This site sets out what is known, with a source for every claim, so you can decide without a sales call.
Timeline
- JMI Equity and Thoma Bravo invest in Raptor Technologies.1
- Raptor acquires LobbyGuard Solutions, LLC (Raleigh, NC). LobbyGuard is described as handling “over 1,000,000 visitor sign-ins each week at school, corporate, government, and medical facilities worldwide” and continues as a Raptor division.2
- Raptor acquires SchoolPass, another visitor / attendance / dismissal vendor.3
- Raptor acquires PublicSchoolWORKS (May) and PayK12 (July).3
- Raptor acquires SmartPass, a digital hall-pass product.4
- Thoma Bravo completes the sale of Raptor to Warburg Pincus; JMI Equity reinvests.5
- lobbyguard.com returns HTTP 301 to raptortech.com/lobbyguard/, which reads “LobbyGuard is Part of Raptor Technologies” and offers support, supplies and a path to “transitioning to Raptor VisitorSafe”.6
- An end-of-life or end-of-support date for LobbyGuard.
Three honest options
There is no wrong answer here; there is only an unexamined one. Each branch below names the question that decides it.
Stay on LobbyGuard support
Right if: the kiosks work, the renewal is affordable, and you can get a written support commitment.
Raptor still lists LobbyGuard support hours and supplies.6 The risk is a quiet one: no published date means no planning horizon. Ask for the commitment in writing at renewal, and diarise the 60-day notice date.7
Migrate to Raptor VisitorSafe
Right if: you also want Raptor’s emergency-management, volunteer or hall-pass products and value one vendor.
You keep your account team and get the product Raptor is investing in. Expect per-site pricing with separate lines for volunteer management, SIS link and kiosk licences; public records show what districts have paid. See the records. Raptor’s store says only Raptor-purchased equipment is approved for its system.8
Switch
Right if: you want to keep the kiosks you own, pay per building, and hold an export of your data from day one.
